TM SERVICE DISRUPTION 24 MAY 2012

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to announce that there has been a disruption to its broadband and voice services since 23 May 2012. However, it was a localised problem affecting customers in certain areas around Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Setapak, Wangsa Maju, and Chow Kit in Kuala Lumpur. As a result, affected customers may have been experiencing problems accessing their TM Streamyx, TM Phone and data services.
Our technical team has discovered that the disruption was attributed to infrastructure cabling works by a third party contractor causing multiple fibre cable cuts affecting TM broadband access equipment near Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman.
Restoration works are now underway and is expected to complete by 26 May 2012. We shall make further announcements on the progress of the restoration works and would like to assure our customers that all necessary measures are being taken to restore the services as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, to alleviate the problem, the traffic has been diverted and managed effectively to ease the situation. We have advised the third party contractor accordingly to ensure this does not recur.
TM apologises for any inconvenience caused by the disruption and thank our customers for their patience and understanding during the affected period.
