Bombshell
Name: Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison
Age: Classified
As a child, Shelly Harrison demonstrated an insatiable desire to succeed. From a young age, she demonstrated an aptitude for creative complexity and was always the outcast, prioritizing success over sociability.

As she matured, Shelly became known for her risk-taking, resilience and leadership, and developed a strong reputation for accomplishing her goals. These traits lead her to join the Global Defence Force, where she eventually became a well-respected and highly-regarded Colonel.

That career ended after what became known as "the Washington Incident," where she lost both her arm and her squad -- a group she thought of as family -- in a violent and explosive act. Shortly after, Shelly was given an honorable discharge.

She was later approached by a private military contractor. In exchange for her diverse skillset -- which includes expert weapons training and bomb disposal -- they offered her a second chance: a mechanical arm built from unidentified remnants discovered in the aftermath of the Washington incident.

Looking to get revenge on those responsible for the incident, she accepted. With this new arm, Shelly took on the name of "Bombshell" and vowed to restore both her name and her career.

Q: Why an Action RPG?

A: We are big fans of action RPGs, and we love exploring new territory. It's a genre that allows us to blend intense storytelling action with player freedom and expression. We believe we can add something new to the genre based on our experiences as a studio. Working with a new genre and a fresh pair of eyes allows us to view things from a new perspective (another pun!).

Q: Will you release modding tools?

A: We've all been part of a dedicated fan community at one point or another. We know what it's like to want to create content. We believe in our community, and we never underestimate their ability to create new stuff, which is key to the success of any game. We are big supporters of modding tools and we strive to release them for every game we make.

Q: Will there be more Bombshell games in the future?

A: Bombshell is a brand new franchise which we are extremely excited about. We have great long-term goals and ambitions for Bombshell and we've created an expansive universe with that in mind. Expect to hear from us in the future.

Q: When is the game released?

A: When it's done... just kidding! (No, but seriously -- when it's done!) Bombshell is scheduled "to be done" for release in 2015.

Investment Firm Behind Interceptor Entertainment Acquires 3D Realms

Danish investment firm, SDN Invest, has acquired Apogee Software, Ltd d/b/a 3D Realms (not to be confused with Apogee Software, LLC - publishers of Rise of the Triad) SDN Invest is part-owner and principal investor in Denmark-based game studio and Rise of the Triad developer, Interceptor Entertainment. Effective immediately, the new CEO of 3D Realms will be Mike Nielsen. Mr. Nielsen also serves as Chairman of the Board at Interceptor.

SDN Invest was founded by Nielsen when he stepped down as CEO of Coolshop.com - a leading online retailer in Northern Europe that he co-founded in 2002 - to focus on investing in companies with potential.

“3D Realms is legendary for its contributions to the gaming industry, as both the pioneer of the shareware model and an always generous partner who has provided both funding and guidance to game studios such as id Software, Parallax Software, Remedy Entertainment, and many others," remarked Nielsen, the newly appointed CEO. "3D Realms has also developed, co-developed, and co-financed such hits as Commander Keen, Duke Nukem, Wolfenstein 3D, Rise of the Triad, Raptor, Shadow Warrior and Prey. There are only a handful of independent studios with a better track record of original games. Yet even with this stellar track record, we hope we can take the company to new heights."

3D Realms, Interceptor Respond to Gearbox's Duke Nukem 3D Lawsuit

3D Realms statement

On March 17, 2014, 3D Realms filed its answer to the complaint by Gearbox Software in Dallas, Texas. 3DR denies all allegations set forth in the complaint. In its answer, 3DR has submitted evidence showing that Gearbox at no point intended to enter into good faith negotiations but instead sought to force former owners, Scott Miller and George Broussard, to improperly surrender what rightfully belonged to 3DR.

It is our position that 3DR retains the right to develop the tentatively titled "Duke Nukem Survivor" game for specific platforms. This game was previously licensed for development to Interceptor Entertainment. Furthermore, it is our position that the Trademark for "Duke Nukem" was never assigned to Gearbox, but remains the sole property of 3DR.

As an independent and young studio, we have been very fortunate to work with companies such as Apogee and 3D Realms on amazing IP's such as Duke Nukem and Rise of the Triad. As true fans of these companies, their games and the amazing minds behind them, we have nothing but respect for the intellectual properties they have created as well as their rightful owners.

We were extremely excited for our next reveal, but unfortunately due to the actions of Gearbox Software, Interceptor Entertainment decided to put this reveal on hold in respect of their lawsuit. However, 3D Realms and Interceptor Entertainment were rightfully developing our game and as you can imagine we were quite shocked when the accusations by Gearbox arose, as we have always acted within our legal rights. It's unfortunate that Gearbox has shown no intention of finding a peaceful solution with us. We will however continue to work towards a solution.

A fierce gunslinger with a personality as powerful as her mechanical arm, Shelly Harrison is set to blow her enemies away with skill and style.

Shelly lost her arm and her squad after failing to disarm an otherworldly bomb in what became known as “The Washington Incident.” Held responsible for the explosion, Shelly was discharged from the Global Defence Force and later approached by a private military contractor with the promise of a second chance: an arm constructed from technological remnants found in the wake of the incident.

Follow Bombshell’s quest for redemption as she fights through surreal alien worlds to rescue the President and save Earth using a growing array of special skills. 　　《重炮罗剎》描述具有机械手臂、充满危险气息的女主角雪莉哈里逊将面临地球毁灭的威胁，她在最新预告片中，将面对掌控冰的力量、以双胞胎搭配攻击的零度守护者威胁，这场对抗 BOSS 的战斗分为多个阶段，玩家必须要利用游戏中多样化的防御与进攻力，以便打倒巨大的敌人。

　　这是《重炮罗剎》继七月在 QuakeCon 展览中首度公开试玩后，再次推出玩家试玩版本，在 PAX Prime 展场中将提供更新的游戏内容让玩家体验射击乐趣。

3D Realms' Action Shooter Bombshell Gets a January 2016 Release Date, Digital Packages Detailed

Legendary games publisher 3D Realms and Danish game developer Interceptor Entertainment - creators of the award-winning 2013 Rise of the Triad remake - are excited to announce final product and pricing details for their upcoming Action-RPG shooter ‘Bombshell’ which is set to releases January 29th 2016.

“We wanted to pack as much value for players into our Digital Deluxe edition as we possibly could” said 3D Realms CEO Mike Nielsen. “For a few extra bucks, you’re getting a bad-ass soundtrack, a hi-res digital art book, Beta access to a nostalgia-inducing Bombshell FPS Prequel game, and more.”

Bombshell is a digital-exclusive title that will MSRP in the U.S. at $34.99, with the Bombshell Digital Deluxe Edition MSRP at $39.99. Bombshell will launch globally on Windows PC via Steam and GOG.com on January 29th 2016, with console versions developed by partner Abstraction Games coming to Microsoft’s Xbox One and Sony’s PlayStation 4 TBD 2016.

Bombshell - Digital Deluxe Edition includes: The Official Bombshell Soundtrack by Andrew Hulshult (digital copy), digital art book & world map overviews, and early BETA access to the Bombshell FPS Prequel, a retro-style first-person shooter that will be sold separately in 2016.
