Not to put blames on them, try to improve yourself
Work harder in improving your English is better than blaming them for not telling you the mistakes you made
They think you are capable to get rid of English, i bet .
They have a lot of portfolio and tasks to handle
Uni lecturers are not primary/secondary school teachers, remember that

作者: txiaoqian    时间: 2011-11-3 05:09 PM
Actually an accent may identify the locality in which its speakers reside,so i think it's quite unnecessary for us to purposely change our accent to maybe America or British accent,
For me language is for communication, as long as one can speak and the other parties can understand than it's more than enough
Manglish is absolutely more approachable in our country as well as Singapore, I think Manglish is not so much of difference from Singlish

those foreigners who came from Vietnam or somewhere else have more "unique" accent which are pretty hard for us to understand
it's okay, u're welcome

haha~ true~ every country has it unique accent, like korean, japanese etc
but if u already get use to the la li lo meh
u will find it hard to cut down
last time i did purposely cut down all the additional words, n i found it really hard
but now im already get use to better english ( yet still not the proper 1)

i did agree that it's necessary to force ourselves to use proper English instead of Manglish
just that don't purposely to learn or pretending that we are the one who speaks with Angmoh accent
it's disgusting honestly
in my view Asian will never have 100% Angmoh accent unless we were borne in that particular country
