In my opinion, grammar is not so important. It's your speaking skills that matter most.
No matter how good your grammar is, If you can't speak well. You hardly able to utilize it.
For an example, When you go for an interview, you can't impress the interviewer even your grammar is perfect but your pronunciation doesn't sound right or you communicate in English fluently. When I say fluently it means you don't have to think when you need to say something. And of course no matter how bad your accent is, It must be understandable by everyone.

可以多看英文杂志什么的。要是不想花钱去学英文,就是自己多看多听多讲。grammar和vocabulary很重要的哦~建议楼主可以先从提高自己的vocabulary开始,每天学习5--10个新单词,一定会进步多多的~

语法很重要,要不然就算说得再顺,也会被别人当傻瓜。

Hi, i think first thing is to have the courage to speak English in public. Grammars and correction can come later after you have the courage to speak it out.

I do agree with this, But no matter how good you are with your grammar. The issue that most people encounter nowadays are "they can't express them self well". By reading novels and books, It will not improve your speaking skills. Take a look at Koreans and Japanese. Their grammar are perfectly alright. But they can't express them self well. Why? Its because they don't speak. And as I mentioned previously. No matter how perfect your grammar is, If you can't speak. Or your accent is horrible, That will definitely turn off your potential employer.

Grammar is important just as any other aspects in a language. The problem is focusing on grammar inhibit your ability to express in a intuitive way. From what I perceive, the reason many Malaysian Chinese fail to speak fluently is because they have the propensity to construct a sentence in their mind with flawless grammar before they open their mouth Just forget about the grammar while you speak. Everybody makes grammatical mistakes, even native speakers. You'll automatically steer to the correct direction over time.
