Square Enix & Dontnod Entertainment announce new title

Square Enix today announced that the brand new, episodic, digitally delivered, narrative driven adventure game entitled Life is Strange is coming to the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.

Developed by Dontnod Entertainment, the Paris-based studio who released their debut game Remember Me last year the game takes place in the fictional town of Arcadia Bay, Oregon, where senior student Max Caulfield returns after a 5 year absence. Reunited with her former friend Chloe, the pair will attempt to uncover the uncomfortable truth behind the mysterious disappearance of fellow student Rachel Amber.

With high quality production values and a unique hand-drawn art style, Life is Strange is a compelling, story-driven experience where choice and consequence play a key role in how the narrative unfolds. But there is a twist. At the beginning of the game Max discovers she has a remarkable power… the ability to rewind time. In Life is Strange the player has the power to affect the game’s narrative and also change the course of history itself.

SQUARE ENIX 在昨日（8 月11 日）发表全新作品《Life is Strange》将于Xbox 360 / Xbox One / PS3 / PS4 / PC 上推出。由曾制作《记忆骇客（Remember Me）》的制作团队Dontnod Entertainment 制作。

《Life is Strange》将采用章节模式以数位下载发售，每个新章节都会根据玩家在过去的章节所做的选择而建立和发展。

《Life is Strange》的故事是在叙述一名名为Max Caulfield 的大学女生发现她的同学在神秘又不安的情况下消失了。在她与她的老朋友Chloe 努力寻找真相的同时，她发现了她拥有时间倒带的能力。

SQUARE ENIX 并未公布《Life is Strange》的发售日期，但是本作将在本周的Gamescom 中展出。

　　SQUARE ENIX发行的剧情互动冒险游戏《奇异人生2（Life Is Strange 2）》第一章节正式发售前一周公布了游戏的发售预告片，进一步展示了新作的剧情开头，以及两位主角肖恩和丹尼尔。

　　《奇异人生2》中，玩家将扮演肖恩，带领弟弟丹尼尔一起逃离西雅图；由于一名警察手枪走火误杀了两人的父亲，丹尼尔爆发了超能力导致了更多悲剧，二人成为通缉犯不得不逃亡。一路上他们将面对许多危险，而且他们对于自身的超能力还不能很好地控制因此也会产生意外。

　　《奇异人生2》将有五个章节，故事情节跨越一年，二位兄弟将逃往墨西哥，旅途漫长而缺少物资的他们该如何挨过漫长日夜？玩家可以选择去打劫别人，而且还要教育好弟弟丹尼尔，不知后边会发生怎样的故事。

　　《奇异人生2》第一章节将会在 9 月 27 日登陆PS4、Xbox One和PC。

   

Square Enix has released the launch trailer for Life is Strange 2 a week ahead of the release of its first episode, titled “Roads.”

Life is Strange 2 tells the new story of Sean and Daniel Diaz, two brothers from suburban Seattle.

After a tragic event forces the brothers on the run from the police, their relationship is tested by the dangers they face in a life on the road, and the manifestation of a supernatural power they don’t understand and can’t fully control.

The 5-episode season will follow Sean and Daniel over the course of a year as they make their way from Seattle to Mexico. Their journey is long and the brothers are woefully unprepared, as they have to set off with very little money and only the items Sean happens to have on him at the time.

They can steal to survive or take the high road and go without essential supplies for the trip. Either way, what are Sean’s actions teaching Daniel? Now totally responsible for his much younger brother, Sean begins to realize that his decisions will impact their lives forever…

The first episode of Life is Strange 2 will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 27. Life is Strange 2 will consist of five episodes.

The first episode of our all-new story of road trips, brotherhood, and coming-of-age is almost ready to land in the hands of players all over the world.

In preparation for release, Dontnod and Square Enix are giving one last sneak peek at Episode 1, and tell players a bit more about the thinking behind the direction of Life is Strange 2. Today marks the release of ‘The Road to Life is Strange 2’, a short documentary about the making of Life is Strange 2, featuring exclusive never-before-seen footage of the game, a great look behind the scenes, and comments from Co-Creators Michel Koch, Raoul Barbet, and Jean-Luc Cano, as well as other key figures in the development team.

Discover a story of two brothers, 16-year old Sean and 9-year old Daniel Diaz, who have to flee their home in suburban Seattle after a tragic event that changes their lives forever. 　　官方指出，本作的主要人物将会是 16 岁的尚恩（Sean）以及 9 岁的丹尼尔迪亚兹（Daniel Diaz）兄弟。 两兄弟原先在华盛顿州的西雅图过着平静的生活，然而，在一场悲剧发生后两人的生活也彻底发生变化。 在远离警方监禁的威胁后，尚恩决定带着弟弟前往家人的故乡墨西哥，寻求更好的生活。

　　然而旅程上总是充满危险，尚恩及丹尼尔将各自面临各式各样的挑战，展开一场考验兄弟情谊的冒险之旅。 当玩家扮演尚恩时，必须因应环境做出各种困难的选择，并且承受在行动后带来的种种后果。

　　此次《奇妙人生 2》将游戏的重点放在兄弟间的感情，玩家必须引导并且教育弟弟丹尼尔。 官方表示，和先前的《奇妙人生》系列作相同，玩家在《奇妙人生 2》中将同样面对到一系列困难的问题，并试着在道德困境下做出选择。 而根据玩家给予丹尼尔的指导以及做出的榜样，将会对他的未来产生重大影响。

Dontnod Entertainment is back with an all-new story to tell, and have been hard at work on Life is Strange 2 since completing work on Life is Strange. Dontnod are set to continue their tradition of telling compelling stories with believable characters in a grounded setting, with a new tale that tackles relatable real-world themes like brotherhood, education and coming of age.

“We’re very excited to present Life is Strange 2, one of our most important releases of the year. 　　Dontnod Entertainment 使用虚幻3引擎开发的叙事冒险游戏《奇异人生》赢得了大量好评，在有“游戏奥斯卡”之称的The Game Awards（TGA）上获得了“年度最具革命性游戏”奖。现在，其续作《奇异人生2（Life Is Strange 2）》就快要发售了，但是目前我们对于它还知之甚少。

　　《奇异人生2》中，游戏的地点和人物都会有所变化。在最近的一则新预告片中，我们可以通过一位警察的汽车记录仪的角度看到游戏中的一些画面。这位警察行驶在一个看起来很普通的城市街道上，他看到了什么东西然后下车去检查，但是不一会儿，一股神秘的强大力量就把他和他的汽车一起掀翻了。

　　这段前导预告片也并没有真正说明什么，反而给了我们更多的疑问。不过，正如预告片的结尾诉说，一切谜团都将在8月20日揭晓，估计Square Enix准备在那天再发布更加详细的预告片。
