The latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation has new details on A Certain Magical Virtual-On, Sega’s upcoming battle action game crossover for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.

A Certain Magical Virtual-On sees the giant robots known as Virtuaroids from Sega’s Cyber Troopers Virtual-On action game series collide with the A Certain Magical Index Dengeki Bunko light novel series written by Kazuma Kamachi and themed after academy battles between users of unusual powers. It is also the first completely new Cyber Trooper Virtual-On title in 15 years.

Dengeki Online has a look at some of the characters and Virtuaroids that will appear in the game. Also, the existence of a fourth weapon that reflects the character’s powers was also confirmed.

Dengeki Online also provides a look atthe game’s academy city stage. A Certain Magical Virtual-On will feature various battle stages where Virtual-On game tournaments will be held. The academy city stage seems to use the building rooftop.

Finally, Dengeki Online provides a look at the newly equippable fourth weapon. By converting and amplifying the unique abilities of the character piloting the Virtuaroid, a new attack is implemented through the Virtuaroid. While three types of weapons existed in previous Virtual-On titles, this will act as a fourth weapon in A Certain Magical Virtual-On.

In the following screenshot, we see Temujin load Touma’s “Imagine Breaker” by starting the V-Converter on its back to activate a new weapon.

A Certain Magical Virtual-On is due out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita during winter 2018 in Japan.

A Certain Magical Virtual-On details prologue, characters

Sega has launched the official Japanese website for A Certain Magical Virtual-On, its competitive battle action game based on the A Certain Magical Index and Cyber Troopers Virtual-On crossover light novel, providing first information about its prologue and characters.

Get the details below.

■ Prologue

—The space-time causality control mechanism, Tangram.

It is the cornerstone of hope brought about by the cyber calendar, or possibly the unexpected outcome.

It looks down upon the countless parallel worlds, and tunes even destiny.

It has its own will, flees to ends of the cyber dimension and on the drifting horizon, it finds hope in a certain world.

Academy City, Touma Kamijo.

The first encounter was dangerous. Kamijo Touma, who learned of calamity’s arrival from a mysterious girl named Ririn Furashina, saves the fusing world in the nick of time.

And thus, the Tangram resonated.

Furashina, who found her place in this world, makes every effort to prevent future disasters, but will that effort pay off?

People with fighting machines, and power with power.

Witness overlapping powers awaken.

■ Characters

◆ Touma Kamijo (voiced by Atsushi Abe)

A boy who lives in Academy City, his capability level is “Person with No Powers (Level 0).” He possesses a power within his right hand called “Imagine Breaker,” which can negate any power.

He seems to be happy with the stable performance of Temjin, and uses it as his preferred Virtuaroid. Temjin also responds to Kamijo’s passion, and in the light novel version of A Certain Magical Virtual-On, he rescued Academy City from a crisis caused by the actions of a humanoid machine.

In the video game, Kamijo enters with Temjin to participate in the Virtual-On Tournament to be held in Academy City.

Temjin 707
Virtuaroid: MBV-707-G/VSL “Temjin 707”

A standard Virtuaroid with high versatility. Its appearance is characterized by its “Slipner,” a long launcher equipped to its right arm, and “Mind Boosters,” which are placed the left and right sides of its back as if to hold its V-Converter.

The Mind Booster detects the mental trigger emitted by the pilot during use of the Virtuaroid, and converts and rectifies it into various forms of output. When using MSBS55.55 as an OS within Academy City, this function is effective against those who do not have prominent powers, such as Espers and Magicians, as well as against Persons with No Powers, such as Kamijo, and contributes to an upward revision of the Virtuaroid’s battle capability.

◆ Index-Librorum-Prohibitorum (voiced by Yuka Iguchi)

A girl with perfect memory of 103,000 magical texts known as grimoires, and is also known by the alias “Grimoire Library.” She is also a sister of the Anglican Church, but is currently dorming with Kamijo.

She has been a Virtual-On player for even longer than Kamijo, and in the light novel version of A Certain Magical Virtual-On, she gave him practical guidance on the tricks of the game.

Her unique ability has a significant effect on the performance of her dedicated Virtuaroid, BAL-RIooN, which will be significantly involved in the core of the game’s story.

BAL-RIooN
Virutaroid: IDX-10/3000 “BAL-RIooN”

A 545 series, multipurpose-type, integrated Virtuaroid. It is a practical use Virtuaroid originally developed in Academy City that uses an OS classified as a G55, and is based on the prototype used for the functionality expansion development of MSBS ver.55.

The model of the Virtuaroid is said to be XBV-819 BAL-Bados, but its traces of said Virtuaroid are sparse.

It is equipped with four autonomous control launcher ERLs, which can be detached from the defense shells of both arms, as well as the lower body.

◆ Misaka Mikoto (voiced by Rina Satou)

A young lady of a leading noble family, and who attends Tokiwadai Middle School. She is one of only seven people classified as “Person with Super Powers (Level 5),” and is an Electromaster with the nickname, “Railgun.”

With weapons such as its lasers and thunderballs, she seems to be a good match for Raiden and uses it often.

She forms a four-person team called “Judge Igniters” with Kuroko Shirai, Kazari Uiharu, and Ruiko Saten, and participates in the Virtual-On Tournament as a team wearing matching outfits and Virtuaroid coloring.

Virtuaroid: HBV-502-H8/VSL “Raiden Judge Igniters”

A heavy attack Virtuaroid equipped with high performance optical weapons. Its heavy armor is called heavy combat Virtuaroid, and as a Virtuaroid with heavy weapons, it is particularly characterized by its shoulder unit.

This unit, called Stave 800Z, can transform into “Binary Lotus” and “Fragment Claw” forms. The former is equipped with a super high output laser, while the latter irradiates each of its claw strings. If a claw string hits a Virtuaroid, it has a special function that makes it no longer able to move.

Compared to other Virtuaroids, its V-Converter is of high efficiency, and can easily convert the tremendous power of Misaka Mikoto’s ability, “Railgun,” and control it to enhance its combat power.

◆ Accelerator (voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto)

He is the strongest Esper among the only seven people classified as “Person with Super Powers (Level 5)” in Academy City. He has the ability to freely manipulate vectors (direction of force), as well as the advanced arithmetic ability to implement that power.

While he will not actively participate in the Virtual-On Tournament to be held in Academy City, when he senses something suspicious going on behind the scenes, he moves on his own volition to uncover the truth.

For that, he pilots Specineff. Generally, he is willing to fight if the situation calls for it while ensuring he acts independently. In the light novel version of A Certain Magical Virtual-On, he played a role in uncovering the truth of the case by teaming up with Kamijo.

Specineff [“Rusty Blood”]
Virtuaroid: RVR-87/VSL “Specineff Rusty Blood”

A grudge curse-type assassination Virtuaroid. The VC model appropriates malignant disk matter, the accumulated residual thoughts of the pilot gone mad due to an accident, and by turning things like the EVL Binder on its back into building materials, it is successful in boosting its grudge attack power, and exhibits high combat power.

When piloting Virtuaroids as Block 55 in Academy City, the grudges are optimized as much as possible to improve safety, but the one Accelerator pilots chaotically amplifies the grudges, and borrows the power of MSBS ver.55.55 and the Misaka Network to forcibly suppress it.

A Certain Magical Virtual-On introduces “Transition” action, control styles, more

Dengeki Online has gone up with a new preview of A Certain Magical Virtual-On confirming two more characters in Kuroko Shirai and Misaki Shokuhou, and detailing the game’s systems, including its new “Transition” action” and control styles.

Points System

In addition to the “when your HP is reduced to zero, you’re KO’d” system in previous Virtual-On titles, A Certain Magical Virtual-On also introduces a new points system. If a KO did not occur within the time limit, the winner and loser were previously decided by each player’s remaining amount of HP, but in the same situation this time, the winner and loser are decided through points, which accumulate when you down your opponent. Because of this, even if you have more HP than your opponent, you will still lose if battle timer ends and they have more points.

Also, a violation will occur if the user with more points begins to play passively, such as running around without hitting their opponent. After a warning, penalties such as point deductions will be imposed.

“Transition” Action

Various speedy actions such as dashes, jumps, and a variety of attacks are one of the appeals of the Virtual-On series. This time, a new “Transition” action has also been added.

By pressing the Circle button during a dash, you’ll switch to a driving form that looks as if the Virtuaroid is kneeling. During a Transition, you can jump, dash in different directions, and switch to an attack without interruption while always keeping the enemy on-screen.

“Smart” and “Veteran” Control Styles

A Certain Magical Virtual-On offers two control styles.

The “Smart” control style is designed for beginners and players returning after a long absence. It is built with an automatic lock-on at its core, allowing you to fight while always keeping the enemy on-screen.

The “Veteran” control style is built with a manual lock-on at its core, allowing you to play freely with the tactics unique to traditional Virtual-On titles, such as rushing forward and manually aiming without keeping the enemy on-screen.

4th Weapon: “Boost Weapon”

In addition to the three weapons of previous Virtual-On games—the Right Weapon, Left Weapon, and Center Weapon—there is a new fourth weapon called the Boost Weapon. This is fired from the Virtuaroid by amplifying the unique ability of each pilot.

　　除了传统的将对手HP打至0来分胜负外，本作中当时间结束双方未能决出胜负时，将不会按照双方的剩余血量来判断胜负，而是根据战斗中双方获取的点数来判定。战斗中如果能将对手击倒则可以获得相应的点数，而处于优势但却消极应战的话将减少点数。

　　新动作Transition：除了基本的冲刺跳跃外，本作中在冲刺时按下圈键机体将半蹲滑行。滑行中可以快速切换为跳跃、转向冲刺或是攻击动作。

　　游戏中准备了两种操作方式。“智能”面向初学者，主要特征为可以自动锁定。而“传统”则与原本的《电脑战机》比较相似，需要手动锁定敌人。

　　第四种武器“BOOST武器”。以往机体都会装备有左武器(LW)、右武器(RW)和中武器(CW)。本作中新增了BOOST武器(VW)，可以根据各搭乘角色发动特殊的能力。更详细的情报会在TGS2017上公开。

《魔法禁书目录魔法电脑战机》主题曲情报初春饰利与佐天泪子参战

　　《魔法禁书目录魔法电脑战机》在本周杂志中公开了主题曲、登场角色等各种各样的新情报。本作已经确定将在2018年2月15日发售日版、3月1日发售中文版。

　　这次游戏中使用的音乐均出自大师古代祐三之手。而主题歌《Get Ready!》将会由饰演茵蒂克丝的井口裕香和饰演御坂美琴的佐藤利奈一同演唱。此外负责制作OP开头动画的则是J.C.STAFF，这家公司此前就是负责制作《某魔法的禁书目录》以及《某科学的超电磁炮》TV动画的。

　　而这次公开的登场角色就是大家熟悉的初春饰利和佐天泪子，她俩的对应机体都是偏重于火力型的。

A Certain Magical Virtual-On adds Acqua of the Back and Apharmd B
《魔法计算机战机》后方之水参战第四种武器新情报

　　PS4/PSV机甲对战动作游戏《魔法计算机战机》公开新的参战角色：后方之水(CV：东地宏树)，他对应的机体则是RVR-39/VSL APHARMD B。在公开的画面中，还能看到机体使用他的灵装屠龙圣剑阿斯卡隆。

　　在本作中，电脑战机的机体除了原本的3种武器外，还配合禁书目录的角色追加了新的第四种武器“Voost Weapom”。这种武器是由驾驶者的能力增幅而形成，之前公开的两名角色初春饰利和佐天泪子的Voost Weapom画面本次也一并公开，不过目前并未说明究竟是什么样的能力……

　　本作的日版将会在 2018 年 2 月 15 日发售，而繁体中文版预定在 3 月 1 日推出。

《魔法计算机战机》神裂火织和土御门元春确定参战

　　PS4/PSV机甲对战动作游戏《魔法计算机战机》公开新的参战角色：两名系列粉丝都非常熟悉的人神裂火织和土御门元春正式确定参战。神裂火织对应的机体为RVR-12/VSL APHARMD C，而土御门元春的机体是RVR-68/VSL DORDRAY。

　　本作的日版将会在 2018 年 2 月 15 日发售，而繁体中文版预定在 3 月 1 日推出。

The opening movie is produced by anime studio J.C. Staff. The theme song, “Get Ready!,” is sung by Index voice actress Yuka Iguchi and Mikoto Misaka voice actress Rina Sato.

Sega has unveiled the official Japanese box art for A Certain Magical Virtual-On, its upcoming competitive battle action game based on the A Certain Magical Index and Cyber Troopers Virtual-On crossover light novel.

The box art features protagonist Touma Kamijo and Virtuaroid MBV-707-G/VSL “Temjin 707.”

《计算机战机 Virtual-On × 魔法禁书目录魔法计算机战机》将推出体验版

　　SEGA Games 制作，预定在 2018 年 2 月 15 日发售的 PS4 / PS Vita 对战型战斗动作游戏《计算机战机 Virtual-On × 魔法禁书目录魔法计算机战机（电脳戦机バーチャロン×とある魔术の禁书目録とある魔术の电脳戦机）》在日本举办了体验会。制作人现场宣布游戏将于12月14日推出体验版，可试玩教学与CPU对战模式，全13架机体都可以使用。此外他还透露：

未来是否会增加DLC机体要看用户反响。
PSV版即可网战也可本地联机，与PS4版一样可以2V2对战。但PS4与PSV版无法跨平台对战。
游戏按键可自定义设置。

Sega will release a demo for A Certain Magical Virtual-On for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita via the PlayStation Store in Japan on December 14, producer Jurou Wataru confirmed to Dengeki Online.

While the demo will not feature online battles, it will include a tutorial and CPU battles. All 13 Virtuaroids that are playable in the full game will be playable in the demo.

A Certain Magical Virtual-On demo now available in Japan

Sega has released a demo for A Certain Magical Virtual-On for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita via the Japanese PlayStation Store.

The demo, which weighs 2.37 gigabytes on PlayStation 4 and 431.55 megabytes on PS Vita, features all 13 playable Virtuaroids from the full game, as well as tutorial and CPU battle modes.

　　由 SEGA Games 所制作的机器人对战游戏《计算机战机 Virtual-On》与轻小说作品《魔法禁书目录》合作的新游戏《计算机战机 Virtual-On × 魔法禁书目录魔法计算机战机（电脳戦机バーチャロン×とある魔术の禁书目録とある魔术の电脳戦机）》昨（27）日于 2018 台北国际电玩展中邀请到游戏制作人亘重郎以及监制铃木重先生莅临现场，同时宣布将在 1 月 30 日于 PlayStation Store 发布体验版，让玩家抢先试玩。

　　本作的剧情为完全新作，内容是由《魔法禁书目录》原作作者「鎌池和马」老师亲手执笔的原创故事内容；而此次也是《计算机战机 Virtual-On》系列睽违 15 年再度登场的完全新作。游戏背景设定在《魔法禁书目录》的学园都市，故事叙述学园都市流行起驾驶巨大机器人对战的次世代竞技活动《计算机战机 Virtual-On》，不论是超能力者或是无能力者，只要有技术都能上场发挥，因而在学生之间掀起一股热潮。

　　制作人亘重郎先生表示，此次是他第一次造访台湾，过去由于没有时间的关系，所以相当开心这次能有机会拜访台湾。铃木重先生则说，他同样也是首次来到台湾，这次在台北国际电玩的会场中感受到台湾玩家对于游戏的热情，并且透露如果有机会的话，希望能够品尝台湾名产菠萝酥。此外铃木重先生也表示，曾经耳闻过臭豆腐这道料理，不过由于味道实在过于独特因此却步了。

A Certain Magical Virtual-On details Mission Modes

Sega has released new A Certain Magical Virtual-On information and screenshots introducing the game’s various Mission Modes, which range from standard competitive battles to rugby-style sports action.

Get the details below.

What is Mission Mode?

Mission Mode consists of single-player challenge “Solo Missions” and online cooperative “Co-Op Missions.” Each has Normal, Hard, Expert, and Advanced difficulty levels, and a broad range of game rules. By clearing missions, you can obtain in-game currency called “Resource,” titles, and more.

Standard Battle (Single / Doubles)

In a Standard Battle, you can enjoy a match in the style of a standard competitive battle. Set the battle format (one-on-one or two-on-two), and let the heated battle unfold.

Arcade Battle

Arcade Battle is a mode where you fight through one-on-one matches against NPC Virtuaroids. Unlike Standard Battle, you can tune up your Virtuaroid’s performance before the match begins. Elements you can strengthen include movement, HP, stability, attack power, attack support, and Voost. You can also activate multiple effects at once.

Boss Battle

A battle mode where you fight against a boss-style Virtuaroid that is significantly larger in size than a standard unit. At the start of the battle, several standard Virtuaroids will appear as enemies, and after a certain amount of time, the boss Virtuaroid will burst into the stage. You will win when you reduce the opponent’s HP to zero. Since you will lose if time runs out, use powerful attacks to crush the opponent.

Destruction

A mission mode where you destroy the large amount of enemy Virtuaroids that appear. Enemies appear in groups called “Waves,” and after one Wave of enemies is destroyed, another Wave of enemies will appear.

The amount of time that remains will increase for each Wave of enemies you overcome, so figuring out how to defeat them in the most efficient manner is the key to success.

Explosion Code

An entirely new game mode where you can enjoy a rugby-style sport. Points are scored by wearing a code and rushing into the opponent’s goal, and the team with the most points at the end of the match will be the winner.

There is no destruction caused by HP damage in Explosion Code, but there are downs. If you are downed, you will drop the code in your possession, so it is important to incorporate team play, such as passing the code to a teammate.

A Certain Magical Virtual-On is due out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in Japan on February 15. A demo is available now.

■多人战斗到运动动作等多采多姿的任务模式!!

　　从标准对战战斗、认真与强敌一决胜负到如同橄榄球一样的运动动作!以下介绍超多玩法的任务模式!

◆关于任务模式

　　拥有独自1人挑战的「单人任务」、在线合作游玩的「协力任务」，各存在着一般、困难、专精、最高级等难易度，可以各式各样的规则来挑战。只要达成任务，便有机会获得游戏内货币 “资源”或称号。

<任务介绍>

●标准战斗(单人/双人)

　　标准战斗中可以一般的对战战斗形式来进行比赛。设定对战形式(1on1、2on2) ，展开激烈的对战吧。

●街机战斗

　　街机战斗是打倒单架出现的NPC的模式。与标准战斗不同，战斗前还可以对电脑战机进行调校。强化项目有六种，分别是移动强化、HP强化、稳定度强化、攻撃强化、攻撃支持、Voost强化。也能够一次发动复数效果。

●BOSS战

　　能跟比一般机体大一倍的BOSS型电脑战机进行对战的模式。比赛开始后便会出现复数一般敌方机体，一定时间后BOSS便会乱入其中。对手HP归0时便判定胜利。时间到的话就会判定为玩家输掉该场对战，使出强力攻击来击破强敌吧。

●毁灭模式

　　击破大量出现的敌方电脑战机的任务。出现的敌人是以被称为「WAVE」的集团构成，规则为1个WAVE的敌人全灭后会接着出现下个WAVE的敌人。打倒WAVE后就能获得游玩时间加算，以高效率击破敌人是破关的关键。

●爆裂‧代码

　　如同橄榄球比赛一样的全新竞技规则。持有代码的状态下突入对方终点后即可获得点数，比赛结束时获得较多点数的队伍则可获胜。虽没有HP伤害的击破，但存在倒地。倒地后便会落下代码，传给我方等团队合作也十分重要。
