英文中的宕辞

一般英美人仕，当他们想不出适当的话回答对方时，通常会用一些不相干的字句来延宕一下，称为宕辞，举例如下：

1.        Eh (呃)

2.        Well (嗯)

3.        Oh, well (啊, 嗯)

4.        Well, let me see (嗯, 等我想想看)

5.        In fact (事实上)

6.        As a matter of fact (其实*)

7.        The fact is (事实却是)

8.        By the by (可是)

9.        By the way (附带说一句)

10.        In any case (无论如何)

11.        Anyhow (总之)

12.        For instance (例如)

13.        You know (或see) (你知道的)

14.        Now I come to think about it (现在我想起来)

15.        I might say (也许可以说)

16.        For my own part (至於我呢)

17.        I tell you what (我告诉你那要怎样)

18.        I mean to say (我想说的是)

19.        As I was saying just now (如我刚说过的)

20.        What I meant to say was (我的意思是说)

21.        At least I think so (至少我是这样想的)

22.        That reminds me (那使我想起)

23.        Or something of that sort (或诸如此类*)

24.        Or to that effect (或那个意思*)

25.        I don’t quite know what you call it (你们叫什么, 我不大清楚)

26.        It’s like this you know (就是这样的, 你知道)

27.        Joking apart (言归正传*)

28.        Apart from that (除此之外*)

29.        First of all; above all (第一; 尤其是)

30.        Not to mention (不消说)
