The highly anticipated annual Suntec Dance competition, Suntec Dance is back and this time the prizes are much more attractive!

We wish to invite you to register and participate in any of the following categories to stand to win prizes totaling a value of $37,000!

The competition is open to:

Junior Solo Category : Individual 12 years old and below for Junior Solo Category
Open Solo Category  : Individual 13 years old and above for Open Solo Category
Group Category       : 4 to 8 members of any age

The closing date for registration is 9 August 2009 (Sunday).

EVENT DATE/TIME/VENUE DETAILS :

Audition*
Date : Sat 15 Aug 2009
Time : 1pm
Venue : Galleria Square

*ContestantsParticipants for all categories will go through the Audition to show their talent and skills for 1 minute. Qualified contestants will be invited to compete in the Heats.

Heats*
Date : Sat 29 Aug 2009
Time : 1pm
Venue: Galleria Square

*15 selected contestants/ groups  in each category will be selected from the Heats to will  compete in the semi-finals.

Semi Finals*
Date: Sat 5 Sep 2009
Time: 1pm
Venue: Galleria Square

*Top 10 Selected contestants/groups in from  each category will be selected from the Semi Finals semi finals will compete for a chance to enter the Grand Finals.

Grand Finals
Date: Sun 20 Sep 2009
Time: 5pm
Venue: Fountain of Wealth

*Top 3 winners for each category will be selected for the Grand Finals. The winning team for from the Open category will represent Suntec City Mall to participate in the BATTLEGROUNDS International Championship in Melbourne.

* Results will be published on the www.sunteccity.com.sg and shortlisted contestants/groups will be notified via post/ phone calls.

Competition Rules

1. This competition is open to:

a. Individual 12 years old and below for Junior Solo Category
b. Individual 13 years old and above for Open Solo Category
c. Maximum of 8 members of any age for Group Category

2. Registration will be closed on 9 August 2009 (Sun), 945pm. Early submission is encouraged
and late submission will not be entertained.

3. All participants must sign and return the Indemnity Form(s) to the organiser. Participants below
21 years old are required to obtain the written consent of their parent / guardian and return the
Contest Form duly signed by their parent / guardian, together with the Indemnity Form duly
signed by their parent / guardian.

4. All participants must adhere to and be willing to perform on the competition dates scheduled by
the organiser.

5. All participants are required to compete in the following rounds held on:
a. Audition Round: 15 August 2009 (Sat), 1pm at Galleria Square.
b. Heat Round : 29 August 2009 (Sat), 1pm at Galleria Square
c. Semi-Final : 5 September 2009 (Sat), 1pm at Galleria Square
d. Grand Finals : 20 September 2009 (Sat), 5pm at Fountain of Wealth

6. 15 participants and/or groups from each category of Heat will proceed to Semi-Final and
amongst these, only 10 participants and/or groups from each category will compete in
Suntec Dance 2009 Grand Finals on 20 September 2009 (Sun) at Fountain of Wealth.

7. In the event of bad weather, the competition will be delayed and should bad weather persist,
Grand Finals will be postponed to 27 September 2009 (Sun).

8. The organiser reserves the right to change the time and venue should the need arise without prior
warning.

9. All performing apparel, performing stage names and music must not bear offensive/vulgar
language or insignia. Apparel and performance must not be overly revealing.

10. All participants must provide their own protective gear should such required.

11. All participants are required to report to the venue at least ONE hour prior to the commencement
of competition. No latecomers will be entertained.

12. All participants must provide their own tracks in CD format and bring along 2 copies of the tracks.
Participants will have to bring their own MD player and cables if MD format is used. No cassettes
are allowed.

13. Duration of each dance item must not exceed 2 minutes for Solo Category and 3 minutes
for Group Category. Participants will be penalised should they exceed the time limit.

14. The competition will be judged based on the following criteria:
a. Choreography – 40% (Originality 20%, Creativity 20%)
b. Dance Skills – 40% (Technique 15%, Execution & Synchronisation 15%, Coordination
10%)
c. Stage Presence – 20% (Audience Impact 10%, Costume & Appearance 10%)

15. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entertained.

16. The organiser, partners and sponsors shall be under no liability whatsoever to the participants, in
respect of any loss, damage or injury suffered by the participants arising from or pursuant to
her/his participation in the competition or for any loss, damage or injury to life or property
sustained by the participant at any stage of the competition, unless such loss, damage or injury is
caused by the organiser’s partner’s or sponsor’s gross and wilful negligence.

17. The organiser will not be held responsible for any expenditure incurred by any participants of the
competition.

18. The organiser reserves the right to amend the rules and regulations without prior notice.
