Rules & Regulations
1) Participants must provide all required information (name, NRIC, date of birth, gender, contact information) for their registration to be considered complete and registrants must be able to show a valid passport/ID-card during registration at the location to prove their identity. Registrants must be at least 18 years old at the point of registration, no exception to the age limit set for the competition. Incomplete, illegible, late or ineligible form will be rejected.
2) All registration forms should include 4 photographs (colour), 2 passport size photos with one photo attached to the registration form and 2 full body shots.
3) Registration is open to all walk-ins on 5 and 6 Dec, at Singapore Flyer, all participants are required to audition before the panelists on the day of registration.
4) Each participant will be given an Audition Queue Number upon registration, to perform later during the day for the qualifying process. Should the qualifying process on Day 1 extend over to the second day, all pre-assigned Queue Numbers who have not auditioned are required to return to perform on the next day.
5) All competitors are required to wait at the holding zone for their audition turn, any participant who does not respond when his/her number is being called upon, will be re-assigned a new Queue Number by the organiser.
6) Performing duration should be at least 5 minutes and consists of at least 2 different magic effects. Points will be deducted for performance of less than 5 minutes and/or only one effect. Performance beyond the 10 minute time-frame will not be taken in consideration for points. Judges reserve the rights to stop the participant at any time during the performance.
7) All participants must be available during the allocated schedule during the semi-finals, finals as well as prize presentation
8) Participants must obey venue regulations and conduct themselves in a manner considerate of others at all times during the competition and while at the competition venue.
9) Participants must be appropriately dressed throughout the competition period.
Attire/Appearance constitutes part of the total score given in the competition.
10) Participants are required to perform at close proximity to the audience during semi-finals and final, and this shall constitute part of the judging under Interactivity. For Audition, they are required to perform on stage before the panel, to qualify for the next round.
11) Disqualification of a participant may be enforced by the organizer if participant fails to show up in time for any of his/her scheduled performance rounds.
12) Disqualification of a participant may be enforced for the following reasons:
• He/she fails to show up in time for any of the competition rounds;
• He/she is suspected of cheating or defrauding the officials during competition;
• He/she behaves in a way that is unlawful, violent or indecent, or intentionally damages venue facilities or anyone's personal property within the venue;
• He/she interferes or becomes a blatant distraction to others during the competition;
• He/she refuses to abide by any of the regulations or instructions given during the competition.
13) No confederates (pre-arrangement with spectators) are allowed. If any participant is suspected of pre-arranging with spectator(s), the judges reserve the right to request the participant to reveal the modus operandi of the trick in order to prove or disprove this. Any participant found to engage in such arrangement, will be disqualified immediately from the competition.
14) Performances and effects used must be appropriate and relevant to street magic.
15) Competition may have time limits for each round; participants are to make sure that the time schedule can be followed.
16) All judges’ decisions are final and no appeal will be entertained.
17) The Organiser retains the following rights and any other in relation to the Competition; Press Interviews, Photography, Printing, Live Broadcast, Audio & Video Recordings, future use of the recordings at the organiser’s discretion. No monetary compensations will be made for any of the mentioned.
18) The Organiser reserves the right to substitute any or all of the prizes with others of similar value without prior notice.
19) Staff of Singapore Flyer Pte Ltd, Adval Brand Group Pte Ltd, its business partners, agencies and their immediate family members are not eligible to take part in this competition.
20) All participants are responsible for their own personal properties, the organiser shall not be held responsible for any injury, accident or loss of personal belongings at the venue during the said period.
21) By participating in the Competition, participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by all terms and conditions set by the organiser and any applicable terms and conditions or Competition Rules imposed by the organiser from time to time, during the said period. |
