Cliff Bleszinski is 'coming out of retirement' to continue making games
Cliff B宣布复出制作游戏将于7天内公开新情报


  作为《战争机器》系列的创始人,前Epic工作室制作人Cliff Bleszinski在业界一直享有盛名。在2012年末离开Epic工作室之后,虽然他偶尔会放出少量和他的新作有关的情报,但整体上来说是沉寂了很久。尽管实质上他并不是真的退役了,不过日前他表示将要复出,重回制作视频游戏的战线中。

  在个人推特上,Bleszinski表示:“我正式复出,将再度制作视频游戏。请继续在未来的7天内关注这里,了解更多详细信息。

Cliff B预计于7月8日公开新作倒计时网站开放

  此前《战争机器》的创始人同时也是前Epic工作室的制作人Cliff Bleszinski此前曾通过推特表示,他会正式复出制作视频游戏,并且将在近期公开与新作相关的情报。而日前他透露了一些新情报,他表示将于2014年7月8日正式公开他的新项目。为此这位开发者也开放了一个倒计时网站 http://itsalmo.st/#time_biuoe ,不过目前该网站上并没有细节部分的内容。

Epic Games 新款动作生存游戏《要塞英雄 Fortnite》启动 Alpha 测试


  《战争机器》研发商 Epic Games 今日宣布,旗下新款动作生存游戏《要塞英雄(暂译,Fortnite)》美国时间 12 月 2 日起至 19 日启动 Alpha 测试。

  此次 Alpha 测试被称为第一次在线测试,主要是确认各种游戏功能正常运作,包括玩家注册、游戏更新与游戏玩法等,同时也希望藉由玩家在测试游戏系统、玩法后能够回馈意见给研发团队。测试登场后,将会陆续开放测试名额,有兴趣的玩家可以在官网注册、有机会获得邀请加入 Alpha 测试的资格。

  《要塞英雄》主要描述玩家与好友领导一群英雄,为了重建家园而努力拓荒,当初此地因为某些原因而遭到荒废,玩家将透过紧密合作来打造强大的要塞,去寻找或者打造武器与陷阱,来保护自己的要塞不会遭到风暴中出现的神秘怪兽破坏。玩家白天可以在游戏世界冒险来寻找资源,并使用搜集到的材料在要塞中建构复杂的陷阱,到了晚上,怪物将蜂拥而上进行攻击,玩家需要共同奋战来击退敌人,并且希望有一天能够解开这风暴之谜,以便拯救世界。

  《要塞英雄》即日起至 19 日在欧美启动 Alpha 测试。



   




The Alpha is Here!

The time has finally arrived! Today we sent out some invites for Fortnite’s Online Test 1. OT1 is the first phase of the Alpha process for Fortnite and will run from Dec. 2 to Dec. 19. We are very excited to get Fortnite into players’ hands for the first time.

During this phase of the Alpha we are testing to make sure all of the basic stuff, from the launcher to all the game systems, is working so we can start getting real feedback from real players to help us make the game better. The game is still rough around the edges but we think it can benefit from your input even at this early stage. Check out our FAQ for more information about OT1.

If you haven't recieved an invite yet, don't lose hope! There are more invites going out later this week and some of those invited have friend invites to share. If you haven’t registered for the Alpha yet, head HERE to sign up for the chance to get into a future phase of Fortnite testing. Epic Games 新作《要塞英雄 Fortnite》今起在北美二次测试

  Epic Games 今日宣布,目前正在研发中动作生存游戏《要塞英雄(暂译,Fortnite)美国时间今日起至 4 月 14 日在北美展开第二次在线测试。

  Epic Games 表示,作为二次在线测试的过程,所有前次测试的数据已经清除,同时他们针对个职业的基础加入了新的能力系统,像是忍者、突击者、漫游者等职业都调整了部分技能树设定。

  此次测试还增加了可以在基地建设无人驾驶飞机制造厂设定,这个建筑可以让英雄在需要空投时呼叫飞机,让飞机在紧急时刻可以把所需要的物资空投到英雄身边。另外,游戏也改善了交友系统,增加角色舞蹈操作表情等功能。

Epic Games 释出《要塞英雄》新影片 展示新版本游戏画面


  Epic Games 今日释出旗下新作《要塞英雄(Fortnite)》新影片,展示更多游戏特色与战斗画面。

  仍在开发中的《要塞英雄》是一款动作生存游戏,玩家要与与好友为了重建家园而奋斗、寻找或者打造武器和陷阱,来保护自己的要塞不会遭到风暴中出现的神秘怪兽破坏。

  官方近日则释出《要塞英雄》最新开发版本展示影片,带领玩家一窥更多建造、战斗画面。

  《要塞英雄》目前尚未公布上市日期。

   






New Fortnite Video!

Things have been quiet around here as we’ve been working hard on the next build of Fortnite, but that hasn’t stopped us taking a little time to show off our latest efforts with the game. A few weeks ago some of the folks in gaming media had a chance to play Fortnite and throughout the week you’ll be seeing their thoughts on the latest version of the game. People Can Fly is Back

Epic Games and People Can Fly today have announced the Warsaw-based team’s return to its original name, memorable logo and roots as an independent game studio.

Ownership of the company, which had been rebranded as Epic Games Poland in 2013, has returned to the local leadership to reflect the team’s desire to create their own games, a move Epic supports.

Studio director Sebastian Wojciechowski continues to lead People Can Fly. The studio is actively contributing to Unreal Engine 4 and Epic’s upcoming game, Fortnite, and is also using the engine for an entirely new unannounced game.

Epic Games Founder and CEO Tim Sweeney said, “We’ve been honored to work with this brilliant group of programmers, artists and designers throughout their history: first as a partner using the Unreal Engine, then as a studio within Epic, and now once again as an independent company.”

“We, as a People Can Fly team, are extremely excited about new possibilities ahead of us,” said Wojciechowski. “We’re going to work on a new game, while continuing to partner with Epic and use UE4. We’re grateful to Tim and the whole Epic team for our long and successful collaboration.”

People Can Fly made its mark on the game industry with the hit Painkiller series more than a decade ago. The team began working with Epic in the early Gears of War days, and went on to ship Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgment. People Can Fly has also contributed to Epic’s more recent games, including Infinity Blade III, Fortnite, Unreal Tournament and other unannounced projects.

Epic Games Unveils ProtoStar at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked
虚幻引擎4移动端宣传视频公布 画面直逼主机?


  在近日举办的MWC大会上,三星为我们带来了搭载了Vulkan API的旗舰机Galaxy S7。同时,我们所熟知的Epic Games也公布了基于Galaxy S7使用虚幻引擎4制作的演示视频——“原恒星(ProtoStar)”,这也是虚幻引擎4在这一API下的首秀。

  Epic Games的CEO Tim Sweeney提到,“Vulkan API将主机级别的画面质量带到移动平台,作为第一款支持Vulkan的游戏引擎,虚幻引擎4为开发者们了带来移动端画面革命的机会。”

  “原恒星”的画面确实令人惊艳,但仅仅是画面级别的提升能否给移动端游戏带来质的变化呢?这其实还是回到了“画面”和“游戏性”之争上。

   


Epic Games Unveils ProtoStar at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked

Epic Games has revealed ProtoStar (Playthrough), a real-time 3D experience built with Unreal Engine 4 technology at Mobile World Congress 2016. Demonstrated on the newly unveiled Samsung Galaxy S7, ProtoStar is the first application using Vulkan API to be shown at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2016.

“The new industry-standard Vulkan API brings key elements of high-end console graphics technology to mobile devices, and Samsung is leading the way with the amazing new Galaxy S7,” said Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games. “As the first engine supporting Vulkan, Unreal Engine 4 provides a solid foundation for developers joining in the mobile graphics revolution.”

Unreal Engine 4’s implementation of Vulkan API enables developers to create visually stunning, cross-platform 3D content that supports more draw calls, and more dynamic objects onscreen, with faster performance than ever before.

ProtoStar introduces a slew of new Unreal Engine 4 rendering achievements on mobile, including:

• Dynamic planar reflections (high-quality reflections for dynamic objects)
• Full GPU particle support on mobile, including vector fields
• Temporal anti-aliasing (TAA)
• High-quality ASTC texture compression
• Full scene dynamic cascaded shadows
• Chromatic aberration
• Mobile dynamic light refraction
• Filmic tonemapping curve
• Improved mobile static reflections
• High-quality mobile depth of field
• Vulkan API support with thousands of dynamic objects onscreen

In addition, Vulkan in Unreal Engine 4 gives developers more control on mobile tile-based graphics processors, allowing for very thin and fast graphics drivers, with minimal overhead. Using Vulkan’s separate debug layer, developers can more thoroughly and easily inspect code and fix issues.

《堡垒之夜》开发商表示游戏仍在全速开发中



  开发商Epic Games近日被采访时表示,四年前在VGA2011上公布的新作《堡垒之夜》(Fortnite)仍在开发中,但即将推出的MOBA游戏《Paragon》是当前的首要任务。

  虽然在采访中并未透露游戏的任何实质性消息或开发进度,但开发商CEO Tim Sweeney解释说,目前工作室的工作重心转移到了《Paragon》上,他们计划先集中完成一个成功的项目,《堡垒之夜》将会是下一个。

  Tim Sweeney还补充表示《堡垒之夜》目前仍在紧张开发中,并强调这不是一个能够简单完成的游戏,它拥有非常棒而且复杂的RPG型系统和游戏原型,这是一个需要大量时间来调整的游戏,而且一直是Epic Games的重点项目,希望未来还会有更多的消息能和玩家们分享。

  《堡垒之夜》最早在VGA2011上由《战争机器》之父Cliff Bleszinski公布并放出游戏预告片,计划在PS3、Xbox 360和PC平台推出。当时游戏被形容成“类似当《我的世界》遇上《求生之路》”。游戏2014年下半年开始内测,最近一次内测在去年,开发商展示了丰富的游戏素材,令参与过内测的玩家都感到非常惊艳。

  目前玩家仍然可以在加入Epic Games社区,报名参加《堡垒之夜》的Alpha测试。
